| Your printer will eventually
fill up the waste ink pads and require servicing. This can happen at
any time.
The printer counts the ink
usage and determines it needs to be serviced. Our printer gave us a
warning after 8 months of usage. We then printed only 3 pages when
the printer signaled with blinking lights its over. This is not much
of a warning in my estimation.
Here is how to keep your
printer in great shape and reset the counter.
- The first thing we
recommend is to add a waste container on the outside of the
printer. As the printer goes through a cleaning cycle it will
now exit the ink into the container outside the printer, keeping
the inside of your printer clean.

- Do not turn off the
printer.
- When you can, and
especially before a week-end, place two drops of cleaning fluid
on the docking station pads. With the printer on push down the
white nylon pin at the bottom left of the carriage. It is the
pin that keeps the carriage locked in place. Move the
carriage off to the left to get access to the docking pads.
After you place the droplets of cleaning fluid, push the paper
feed button and the carriage will re-dock.
- To reset the printer's
firmware, you can contact us for directions.
