One of the most frequently asked questions of us, is: "How can you be an Ink Manufacturer, a Product Manufacturer and a reseller of Tech Equipment? I never heard of this combination."

The owners of the company started out in the photography business. They had years of experience with Cibachrome, C-Printing and Commercial Photography. They performed as consultants to a Gravure Ink Manufacturer. In the beginning of digital printing, they began to experiment. The limitations of the Color Gamut of Pigment Inks as well as the early versions of Rip Software created an opportunity as well as the necessity to work out of the box.

Developing better inks, it became apparent that Bulk Ink Systems were needed. Because the available systems were not adequate, American Imaging Corp. developed their own systems. To test and insure the performance of these systems they bought printers from Mimaki, Roland, and Epson. With the proven performance of their system, they began to market a package of their own Ink, known as Symphonic, with their own delivery system as well as these Inkjet printers. This package reduced the cost of printing while it offered higher quality images.

Now they could deliver High-Quality Archival Hi-Gamut Inks to their clients. To insure that their clients could produce the kind of quality this package could offer, AIC bought and tested numerous Rips and Color Management Systems. However, the Rips available were not able to deliver the full color depth of their ink. For over a year they worked with a developer to produce a Rip to accomplish this task. This new software technology helped to further advance Symphonic Ink as well. We could now push the envelope with these tools and expand the package to an even Wider Gamut Archival Ink, Bulk ink delivery System, Printers, and an Advanced 16 bit User-Friendly Efficient Software Rip.

We developed Ink formulations for specific printing fields, Fine Art, Photography, Display, Outdoor Signage, and Fabric Printing.

AIC realized that most computers are designed for either Desktop Publishing or Home use. They lack the elements needed to meet the need of Editing and Ripping larger files, especially 16 bit tiffs. AIC designed the Titan's, a range of powerful graphic computers with features not found in Mac's or PC's. However, knowing that Mac users may want to stay in their environment, an independent Rip layout was developed that can reside on either Mac or PC and drive the Titan Rip/Station. Now the package became "A turnkey Package."

With all this development, one more element was added to aid the customer, an intense amount of Knowledge and the ability to offer technical support on many topics.

"AIC has set a yardstick of quality to be measured against."

In order to accomplish all this you must have great knowledge and experience. You must have a Great Team behind you of chemists, technicians, designers, and producers.

Finally:

  • AIC continues to push the envelope testing and developing new products.
  • AIC is Certified as Service Technicians for Mimaki and Roland, as well as being resellers.
  • AIC also handles parts for Epson printers.
  • AIC uses their printers regularly: they know how to maintain as well as repair them.

AIC is about helping you.
